It took a flight to Atlanta for me to have time to get to the end. Great thesis. Thank you! You’ve highlighted well the struggle between interdependence and collective care and interests for the self. We all feel this battle within ourselves daily. Do I take care of myself? Do I solve for others? Resources are limited.

Soccer’s framework is broad enough for us to watch this dynamic play out. Perhaps that is why it’s the world’s sport. It’s encouraging that over time the notion of collective care has dominated the sports evolution, even while selfish interests continue to show their face. You feel the antagonism from the fans toward any such selfish trend. We understand the source of the beauty and its importance and care not for how rich the governers become.

Money is harder. People spend less time studying money than they do soccer. The selfish can get away with more. They have information. Information is power. Bitcoin of course is a movement back toward interdependence and collective care. Removing money from the hands of power. Perhaps with a broad enough framework we can always find the space for care.

But this pendulum will always be swinging. It swings inside all of us and manifests in how we organize ourselves.
